Plastic injection molds

Beside its steel activities SSK has been cooperating for a couple of years with selected tool and mold makers in Asia who are able to produce state of the art plastic injection molds at competitive prices. Our product portfolio ranges from simple to complex molds with a number of cavities and multi shut-off needle hot runner systems.

Modern 3D-Design
Construction of molds is entirely carried out by most modern 3D CAD Tools. At agreed check points production data will be transferred to the customer in exchange formate.
At telephone conferences tool design can be discussed directly with the mold maker.

Support during the mold development by European partner
Our service and offer includes support by us and our competent partner from the mold industry. Communication on request of mold design changes can be carried out directly by our competent partner.

Systematic recording of requirements on the injection molding tools
All components, from gating system up to cooling are recorded by a special software tool at time of project start in order to optimize the time of modification while construction and to achieve an optimized communication between customer, mold maker and ourselves. Recording can be carried out in German and English. The specification sheet is the order base to develop the mold ordered.

High quality steels and high end components
Very often problems with molds from Southeast Asia turn-up owing to usage of inferior steels. As SSK has got a very long experience in buying steels from Asia this risk can be excluded. Special requirements of our customers can be considered when the mold steel has to be chosen and ordered.
Hot runner systems are usually used from YUDO which can offer a broad range of high quality sys-tems.

Mold documentation at European level
A comprehensive mold documentation (including drawings) can be provided on request. Customer requirements will be considered accordingly.

High quality standard production
Production is carried out on state of the art production machines.
First samples can be produced in-house on injection molding machines made by „Haitian“.

Metal Powder for applications of the 21st century

In close cooperation with leading Chinese Development and Research Centers like the „State Key Laboratory of Advanced Forming Technology and Equipment“, the „National Engineering Laboratory of Large Metal Components“ and the „Nanjing Institute of Additive Manufactoring“ a production site for Metal Powder was established to provide highest quality steel powder for the following main applications:

– High Performance Metal Powder for 3D-Printing
– Metal Powder for laser advanced manufacturing technology
– High Performance PM Steel

The metal powder and its products can be provided in various different grades:

– Stainless steel powders, Cobalt alloy powders, Nickel base alloy powders, Tool and die steel powders, Aluminium alloy powders

3D printing (Additive Manufacturing)

3D printing, also called Additive Manufacturing refers to processes used to to synthesize computer controlled a three-dimensional object by forming successive
layers of material to create an object. Objects can be of almost any shape or geometry.

Applications of metal powder for 3D printing:

Titanium Alloys for biological implants, CoCr-Alloys for dental material, Stainless Steel Material,
Titanium Alloys for aero components

Laser Cladding

Laser Cladding is a method of despositing material from a powder or wire material
to melt and to consolidate the near net shape portion (additive manufacturing tech-
nology) material by using a laser to substrate coating portion or manufacturing.

It is often used to improve mechanical properties or to improve corrosion resistance,
to repair wear parts and manufacture of metal matrix composites.

Applications of laser cladding repair:

Aerospace: Engine components of Rolls Royce – Compressor blade tips of grade Alloy 718
Mold Repair – Steel industry

High Performance PM Steel

Compared to conventionally produced High-Speed Tool Steel powder metallurgy high speed
steel has got excellent grinding performance, good dimensional stability during heat treatment,
excellent toughness, red hardness and abrasive resistance.

Advantages of PM Steel: no composition segregation, finer micro structures, uniform micro structure,
high performance results
